Anouk - teacher and co-creator of ReadLab
Built by a teacher - not a tech company
I'm Anouk - a primary school teacher and co-creator of ReadLab. I see the same patterns every day: children who read fluently aloud but don't hold on to what the text actually says.
Together with my husband Gijs (who builds the app) I'm shaping ReadLab around what I actually see work in the classroom. Not random exercises from the internet. No ads. No data trading.
That's why ReadLab isn't a learn-to-read app. It's an app that helps children understand what they read - and gives parents insight into how it's going.
How we train reading comprehension

At your child's level
Three difficulty levels per story — never too easy, never too hard. Your child picks what fits them best.

Reading comprehension, not learning to read
No letter recognition or phonics drills. Just real stories with comprehension questions — so your child remembers what they read, not just how to sound the words out.

5 minutes a day is enough
Short sessions that fit any schedule. Your child sees what's up next and builds up step by step.

Visible progress for parents
Track your child's reading level week by week. No vague feeling — concrete proof it's working.
Anouk has over 20 years of teaching experience. Alongside her work as a primary school teacher she runs her own business, Dutch for Kids, teaching Dutch to children living abroad.
“Flexible, tailored to our child's level, he's learning a lot.”
“Engaging lessons that give my son real confidence.”
ReadLab builds on the same approach.
