Anouk - teacher and co-creator of ReadLab
Built by a teacher - not a tech company
I'm Anouk - a primary school teacher and co-creator of ReadLab. In the classroom I see the same patterns every day: children who read fluently aloud but don't hold on to what the text actually says.
Together with my husband Gijs (who builds the app) I'm shaping ReadLab around what I actually see work in the classroom. Not random exercises from the internet. No ads. No data trading.
Just an app that helps children read better - and gives parents insight into how it's going.
See how it works

Pick up where your child left off
Your child sees their exercises at a glance and tracks how far they've come. The progress bar keeps them motivated to do just one more.

Tailored to your reader
Your child chooses their own difficulty - easy, normal or challenging. Reading stays fun and just the right level of stretch for them.

Your child learns by doing
After reading, your child answers comprehension questions and sees straight away what went well and what to work on - making reading a positive experience.
Anouk has over 20 years of teaching experience. Alongside her work as a primary school teacher she runs her own business, Dutch for Kids, teaching Dutch to children living abroad.
“Flexible, tailored to our child's level, he's learning a lot.”
“Engaging lessons that give my son real confidence.”
ReadLab builds on the same approach.
